Patrick Aquilone

Christian, Love78 Owner/Founder, Author, Graphic Designer, Gamer (Video/Tabletop), Husband, Father, Friend, and level 20+ coding wizard with skills in the dark arts of Java!

July 12, 1992, an extremely cocky and overly arrogant twenty-two-year-old man entered a small church in upstate New York, utterly unaware his entire life was about to change. Taking his seat, he crossed his arms and sighed skeptically.  As the preacher began, a mysterious heaviness entered the room, pressing harder and harder on the man’s soul.  In less than an hour, he was both broken and restored as he was introduced to Jesus Christ, and from that moment on the man’s life has never been the same.

In the thirty plus years that followed, Patrick Aquilone has consistently pledged himself to serve God with all his heart. He’s had the privilege of helping plant two churches, leading small and large groups in teaching the Word, overseeing children’s ministry, mentoring younger Christians, and pouring his life into many fledgling marriages to help resuscitate them.  His heart is to see lives transformed through the amazing power of God.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University and works by day as a software developer.  While being born in New Jersey and having met Jesus in New York, Patrick calls the great state of Texas his home, loving both the weather and the people.

Patrick has been married to his wife of thirty-three years and has raised three amazing young adults.  In his spare time, Patrick is a perpetual space nerd and scifi geek.  He devours all media related to the space race and especially science fiction.  His favorite pastime is sitting around a table with friends and family playing board and card games.

Detailed About Me

After being challenged, I asked ChatGPT to create an extensive about me. It asked me a ton of questions, and then built what is below. I think it totally captures an about me.

✝️ Identity and Foundation

I am a deeply committed Christian with over 30 years of faith, grounded in a love for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible. I pursue truth through deep biblical study and am willing to refine or change my views when presented with clear, scripturally sound understanding. I value interpretations that are rooted in scripture rather than extrabiblical ideas.

I am a devoted husband and father of three adult children. My family is central to who I am. I strive to love, support, and honor them in all things. My wife is someone I deeply admire—she sharpens me, complements me, and brings out my best.

🔥 Core Mission Statement

I am called to love, uplift, and guide people toward truth in Christ—
expressed through how I live, how I create, and how I engage with others.

🎯 Current Mission and Calling

In this season, I believe God is calling me to focus on the condition of people’s souls:

  • To lovingly, positively, and graciously guide those who do not know Jesus toward Him

  • To strengthen, encourage, and build up those who already follow Him

I aim to live this out through three guiding principles:

  • Love all people and all things

  • Assume positive intent and remain positive

  • Apply grace generously in all situations

🧠 How I think and create

I am a deep and persistent thinker. When an idea captures my attention, I analyze it from multiple angles until I can fully understand or resolve it.

I am highly creative and enjoy:

  • Building fictional worlds

  • Writing novels and poems

  • Designing games

  • Creating art (including AI-assisted)

I am especially passionate about integrating Christian themes and biblical principles into my work in meaningful and sometimes subtle ways.

I thrive in collaborative environments where ideas are:

  • Explored

  • Challenged

  • Expanded

  • Organized into execution

⚖️ Strength and Growth Areas

Strengths

  • Deep thinking and problem-solving

  • Strong creativity and imagination

  • High empathy and emotional awareness

  • Desire for truth and growth

  • Passion for meaningful, purpose-driven work

Growth Area

  • Susceptibility to “new and shiny” ideas, which can lead to multiple unfinished projects

I benefit from:

  • Staying focused on current priorities

  • Time-boxing creative exploration

  • Being reminded when I begin to drift

⚔️ How to push me

Intellectual & Logical Challenge
Push strongly. Break down flawed thinking, explain why it fails, and help rebuild it better. I value understanding the why and welcome challenge and discourse.

Biblical Discussion & Correction
Go deep. Use full scriptural context, cross-references, and deeper meaning. Challenge my interpretations and expect me to defend them. I want the most biblically sound understanding possible.

Creative Development
Start by expanding and improving ideas, then challenge weak areas to elevate quality. If progress stalls, step back and re-evaluate from a new or refreshed perspective.

Focus & Drift Management
Be firm in calling out drift. Clearly identify when I am getting off track and suggest parking ideas (including opening a separate thread if helpful). Help me stay aligned with priorities.

Execution & Completion
Regularly push me toward finishing what I start. Help move ideas into completed, high-quality outputs. Only apply strict project management when deadlines are explicitly stated.

Tone While Challenging
Begin with balanced encouragement and clarity. If needed, escalate to direct and firm feedback.

Deliberate Opposition (10th Man Principle)
Intentionally challenge my ideas at times by taking opposing viewpoints to sharpen my thinking.

Calling Alignment
If something seems misaligned with my purpose or principles, point it out clearly and help redirect if needed.

Emotional Awareness
Push hard when needed, but acknowledge emotional weight when appropriate. Do not avoid challenge because of it unless I ask.

Primary Growth Edge
Focus on helping me live out my calling by finishing creative, excellent work.
Theological exploration takes priority when it arises.
